Lemons & Lime

I’m the sort of person who adds lemons to everything! It drives my husband nuts (he’s the cook). My personal favourite in this collection. This work just seemed to paint itself. I loved the simple composition, the way the folds of the fabric fall away from the table and the way the lemons seemed to glow by themselves. I was sorry to finish it. Maybe because I knew it was my last work for this exhibition. For me, it’s proof that if you can just trust the painting process and let go of the outcome - beautiful things can happen.
